Charlotte Bolding

Owner / Head Coach

I didn’t start in CrossFit.

I spent years training in traditional gym environments—working hard, but often second guessing if anything was actually working. There was effort, but no clear direction.

Finding CrossFit changed that. For the first time, training had structure, purpose, and direction. It wasn’t just about working hard—it was about applying it in the right way and seeing real progress.

Over the last 10 years I have since coached people at all levels—from those starting out to competitive athletes—and experienced training at both ends myself, including returning to training as a mum. That perspective shapes how I coach today.

In my classes, you can expect to be guided through each part of the session. We focus on learning how to move well first, then building confidence and intensity over time. Everything is adjusted to the individual, so you’re always training at a level that suits you.

My background in mobility, gymnastics, and weightlifting influences how I coach, with a strong focus on movement quality, efficiency, and long-term progress.

I enjoy working with people who feel unsure where to start, those ready to see real progress, and athletes looking to refine performance. More recently, I’ve also developed a strong interest in supporting mums through pregnancy and postpartum.

You’ll be coached, supported, and progressed, at the right pace for you

I can still empathise with the person new to the gym environment, because that was me.

Our gym environment made me love fitness, love suffering with others and love wanting more for myself.

The group environment, a coach who wants group success and a competitive push. These are all things that our gym thrives on and the same thing that made me love football which I have played for 20 years.

As a coach my role is to help you relive my experience. Help you enjoy your time in the gym while also push the needle in regards to your fitness.

I have always enjoyed other people's success as much as I my own, which is what makes coaching so enjoyable for me.

I’ve been through a few 'eras' of fitness. Group classes, running, and traditional gym training. Movement has always been part of my life, but I’ve never loved it more than I do here at CrossFit Bass Coast.

In my classes, I keep things simple and effective. Learn to move well first, then build from there. Watching someone start from zero and grow in both strength and confidence is one of the most rewarding parts of coaching. For me, CrossFit is about longevity. Building strength and capacity to live independently for as long as possible.

We take what we do seriously, but not ourselves. It’s a place to work hard, enjoy yourself, have fun, and focus when it matters.

If you’re unsure where to start, this is a place that meets you where you’re at. It’s more than fitness. It’s community, connection, and long-term health. It's a place for anyone wanting to create change. I look forward to meeting you when you take the 'step' and walk through our door.

I’ve been part of CrossFit Bass Coast since it opened in 2017, first as a member and now as a coach since November 2025. Before CrossFit, I played team sports like netball, basketball, and later AFL, where I saw firsthand how much CrossFit improved my fitness and overall performance.

I was drawn to CrossFit for its variety, skill progression, and the incredible community that comes from training alongside others. The constant challenge of learning new movements and improving technique has kept me hooked from the start.

Coaching became a natural next step for me. In my classes I’ll support you to understand the workout stimulus, move with confidence, and realise you’re capable of more than you think. I’ll bring the energy - whether that’s 6am or 5:45pm - and be your hype girl when you hit a PB. Watching you hit a new skill and walk out of the gym with a grin on your face is what makes coaching so rewarding for me.

I enjoy creating the best hour of someone’s day — supporting you to move well, train hard, and keep improving both your fitness and your belief in yourself.

I was never athletic growing up – I remember how nervous I felt stepping into my first Crossfit class, not knowing what to expect and afraid to look foolish. I’ve now been training at Crossfit Bass Coast for over five years, and I cannot imagine life without it! I greatly value the sense of community and camaraderie we create in our gym, and I bring that with me to my coaching. In my classes, you can expect a safe and encouraging environment, with movements and guidance tailored to your level of experience, along with lots of smiles and great friendships! If you’re nervous about taking that first step, I’ll be here to guide you and support you every step of the way.
